Privacy Policy

Last updated November 5, 2026

Dot is a voice reminder app for busy people and families. This page explains, in plain English, what we keep and what we don't.

Your voice

  • When you record, the audio is turned into text and then thrown away.
  • We never store your voice recordings.

What we keep

  • Your account from Sign in with Apple (a name and an email Apple shares with us, which may be a private relay address).
  • Your reminders: the title, notes, dates and who they are for.
  • Names you save for family members, and the name your family calls you.
  • A notification address for each phone you turn reminders on for, so we can send them.

What we don't do

  • We don't sell your data or share it with advertisers.
  • We don't track your location.
  • We don't use advertising trackers.

Family and children

Children don't create accounts or give an email. A parent pairs a child's phone by showing a QR code. That phone only sees reminders meant for it and can send reminders back to the parent. The parent can remove a paired phone at any time. Only share your QR code with your family.

Who helps us run Dot

We use trusted service providers to host the app, turn speech into text, understand dates in what you say, and deliver phone notifications. They process data only to provide these services to us.

Deleting your data

You can delete reminders at any time. To delete your whole account and everything in it, go to Settings and tap Delete my account. Your reminders, linked people, paired phones and settings are removed right away.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date above and let you know in the app for important changes.
